In an ever increasing digital age, I have found that there is something magical about something that can bring people together in an organic, tangible way to entertain and create joy. That is exactly what the game of cribbage does. Having learned the game from my grandpa at the age of 5, I decided to design my own cribbage boards. The concept for these boards is that of nostalgia and relationship. The "Grandpa's Favorite Game" slogan reminds us that the roots go deep, and the game deserves a special place at any family gathering. I sought to include elements to engage the user with the custom slide off label, and a rule book which is tucked in the back so they can learn the complete rules before they play. I vector-illustrated the center grain piece and other flourishes and had them laser-printed onto slabs of black walnut. Perfect with coffee and conversation.
